IMPORTANCE OF NETWORKING IN OUR DAY TO DAY ACTIVITIES

Hello and welcome to my blog. My name is Ola, and in this post, I’ll discuss the value of networking in our daily lives. If you missed my earlier posts about networking, please go read them. Compared to previous articles where we responded to some of our readers’ technology-related questions, this is a special series. If you’re a new visitor, do yourself a favor and read a few of the earlier posts. Also, don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter to receive future posts.

WELCOME TO NETWORKING

Establishing and growing long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with people you encounter in various settings is the goal of networking. You can meet someone for life whether you’re in a sports league, at a conference, or waiting in line for your daily coffee. For individuals who are purposeful about building networks, networking opportunities are always available everywhere. To meet new individuals, you don’t have to join many professional organisations or sign up for every conference. One needs to consciously interact and connect with people in this smartphone era by keeping technology out of the way.

I was curiously questioned by someone, “Why is networking so important?” Every time this subject is brought up, you should always consider those who have brilliant ideas in the hopes of meeting those who can help you, whether they are looking for possibilities or solutions to their issues or both. The value of networking increases with the number of people you know who fit the aforementioned description. The more people you know who fit the aforementioned description, the happier they will be to hear from you a year from now, the more interesting projects you will work on together, neither the good nor the bad, and the more knowledge you will gain from other people’s ideas. It’s like magic when your prospective employer hears good things about you from a reliable source. Additionally, people are more likely to trust recommendations for products and services than to work with complete strangers, particularly for delicate and urgent assignments.

STARTING A NETWORK: HOW TO

It’s impossible to go to sleep as an introvert and wake up as an extrovert. Therefore, if it is not your inclination to start up lively conversations with new individuals, you cannot reasonably expect to do so. Building effective communication skills takes time. There is no “one style fits all” rule in networking, therefore different strategies are effective for various people. One may need to experiment with different approaches to find the one that best suits them in order to figure out what works for them. For instance, introverts find smaller gatherings or one-on-one chats to be safer because crowds frighten them. While you’re awaiting your coffee, train, or service, complimenting someone’s attire or accessories is all it takes to strike up a discussion, build a rapport, and network.

THE NEED FOR NETWORKING

You gain a larger perspective on life through interacting with people from various professions, ethnicities, and cultures. Every time you interact with people of all ages, backgrounds, and viewpoints, your open-mindedness grows. The ability to be more empathetic and open-minded also helps you become a better team player, which is another benefit of networking. Networking has various advantages outside just extending one’s outlook on life. Consider this: networking is a chance to practice striking up conversations, speaking clearly, and getting to know people. Without a doubt! Your confidence will rise as a result of these contacts, and you won’t be as afraid to strike up a discussion with total strangers. Experts underline the relevance of social networking as a stress reliever with stresses like deadlines and targets.

CONCLUSION

In conclusion, networking is very helpful in our daily activities, from connecting one computer to another, even starting with the very basic, connecting your phone device to your computer can also be a herculean task to some people. Nowadays, networking cannot be overemphasized in our immediate environment. When I was six years old, I was first exposed to networking and taught how to identify connections, wires, etc. Almost all businesses, large or small, employ networking in their daily operations; it has become ingrained in our culture.
